It is a testament to Hudson’s character that he probably
feels entirely unworthy of this honour and limelight. He
prefers to stay in the background and be the helper
rather than the leader. However, there is absolutely
no doubt that Hudson has impacted each and every
HOTTIE in his time with the Club, not just as a committee
member, treasurer and vice-president, but as a friend,
mentor and role model.

Hudson has imbued so much of himself in the club. Some
of this is obvious: catering and cooking, designing and
selling Hottie merch, running socials, transporting Hottie
balls and paraphernalia around, organizing events,
buying presents, being the designated driver, attending
meetings, etc etc etc. What is less tangible but even
more meaningful is the non-judgmental love that
Hudson brings with him every week. He brings a
shoulder to cry on, a safe ear to listen, wide arms to hug.
He has made it a special, and silent, mission to make
every club member feel valued and welcome, and while
he doesn’t ask for recognition, he is recognised by all as
a role model and friend. He is the living embodiment of
the inclusivity and acceptance that HOT aspires to
display, and his involvement with the club has helped us
all be better. We want to be like Hudson.
