I joined Hotties in early 2021 when i first moved here with Florence from Northern NSW. I had played tennis as a child and my family would often have social tennis and bbq days but I hadn't played much for 30 years. I felt old and slow and rusty but I rediscovered how much I enjoyed tennis and found a club full of friendly, welcoming and inclusive players. A safe and celebratory space in Hobart for LGBTIQA+ folk. So much diversity and so many generations represented. I've made some great friends and it's given me a sense of community. And a lot of fun! I've been on the committee twice before now and Hotties are always evolving and changing to meet the needs of it's members but at its core, it's always about inclusivity.
