Siyan has been a driving force in the creation of Hobart Out Tennis and its placement as a valued contributor to the LGBTIQA+ community in Tasmania. A tireless worker combining business acumen with passion and skill, Siyan has volunteered a huge amount of time and effort to HOT. Her countless contributions have included taking the minutes at all Committee meetings, assisting with the planning of tournaments, arranging weekly socials and dinners, welcoming new members and making them feel valued, creating welcome emails, and posting on the HOT channels. She has written numerous submissions resulting in grants being made to Hobart Out Tennis, and utilised her vast experience on boards and committees to impact the formation of club administration and policies. She has also actively sought business sponsors and donors for club raffles, helped organised merchandise, promoted the club through her extensive networks, written newspaper articles, and even been on the radio – twice! Her energy, enthusiasm, spirit and drive are going to leave a massive gap in the Committee, and as we attempt to maintain her legacy, we can only hope that we will do her proud.
