I moved to Tassie in 2016. I was introduced to Hendry through friends and we played some tennis together. In 2017 I played in the January GLTA event Hendry organised. Hendry was running around like a crazy person so i asked if i could help. Hendry showed me how to run the tournament desk, allocating courts and putting in scores. It was so much fun and I met a lot of new people. In 2018, I managed to break my wrist on the second point of my first doubles match. I pulled out of the singles but continued to play in the doubles..... I didn't know my wrist was broken.. I helped out again on the tournament desk and enjoyed it very much. It was after this tournament that a couple of us said to Hendry that it is too much work for one person to organise the GLTA event so we decided to form a committee and out of that we also formed the HOTTIES. I've been a member since the beginning and have been bestowed a life membership. I love this club and am very proud to be a founding member. I am pleased to say we are a very diverse club representing all letters of the alphabet family. In the first year of the club we hoped to get 20 members but we got 50 and have maintained that through the years. This club has become a second family to me and many others. I've met and worked with amazing people in HOTTIES and I'm excited for the future of the club.
