Newsletter – Working Bee, Oct 2020

The isolation protocols allowed nature to grow without restraint. To groom the club’s surrounds, short back and sides, a Working Bee was planned for Thursday 22 October. In fact, it was done over 4 days. In addition, there was the frequent bagging of the courts by Jack and George setting the surface ready for tennis. A summary of the 4 days follows.

Due to the frequent bagging of the courts by Jack and George the surface is ready for tennis. The surrounds need grass cutting, whipper-snipping and garden maintenance. Then the facilities will be most presentable. Wait for Authorities advice, weekend, Working bee TBA.

Based on the announcement by the State Premier, Dan Andrews and further advice from Sport and Recreation Victoria: All tennis clubs and facilities must close in Metropolitan Melbourne until further notice.

2020 AGM Adjournment

With the unprecedented pandemic and resultant metropolitan Melbourne lockdown, it is not possible to hold a conventional AGM at this time. The committee have passed the decision unanimously to adjourn the AGM to a later fixed date following the relaxation of restrictions.
