Tennis Courts
St Christophers have 3 full sized doubles/singles tennis courts all surfaced with Red Pourous (En Tout Cas). The court condition is immaculate known for a high bounce and medium pace properties. Ensure that the correct tennis shoes are used on this surface.
Prior to commencing play, ensure that the surface is watered from fenceline to fenceline. Tap/Hose is located between courts and on the fenceline. Leave hoses in a tidy state when not in use to prevent tripping a hazzard.
- Watering ensures that the clay base below the En Te Cas surface remains a solid composure and prevents wear. This is especially required during warmer times of the year such as summer.
- Watering of courts after rain or during winter may not be required.
- Taps between the courts (near the net) are supplied by mains water. Taps are operated by roating the lever to a 6 o clock (lever facing own) position.
- Taps along the fence lines (Qty: 2) are supplied by rain water, do not drink this water. Taps are operated like gernal household taps.
Bagging (smoothening of the surface) of the court must occur upon completion of each tennis session.
- Bagging devices are located along the fencelines, there are a minimum of 4 units on court at any given time.
Sponges
- To remove excess water or puddles from court surface (eg. after rain), please use the roller sponges located at the ends of the courts next to the umpire chairs.
Nets
- Tennis court net height is always set to the regulation height 91 cm (3 Foot) at the centre of the net. Naturally, there is visually noticable drop at the centre of the net.
- Should you need to adjust the net, this can be done at the the net post by rotating the lever.
Lines
- Court lines are made of tape nailed into the clay surface. From time to time nails break, please report as the tape can be damaged when not secured and case a tripping hazzard.
- Due to the nature of the En Te Cas surface, the lines tend to become less visable after being bagged. Lines can be swept with a broom as required, brooms are locateed at the centre light posts.
Please report any damage and we will attend promptly to resolve.
