Match Formats
The format for each division is listed below.
ELIMINATION (KNOCK OUT) COMPETITION:
• Men’s singles
• Men’s doubles
• Women’s doubles
• Junior singles (boys and girls* are combined into a single competition, but with separate girls and boys winners/runners up)
• Green Ball doubles
* Girls singles winner is decided (in preference) by greatest number of wins, head to head, set % won or games % won
ROUND ROBIN COMPETITION:
• Women’s singles
• Junior boys doubles (there is no Junior girls doubles)
• Green Ball singles
This is a round robin format where winner is decided (in preference) by:
1. Greatest Number of Wins: The player/pair with the most match victories
2. Head-to-Head: If only two players/pair are tied on wins, the winner of the match between them ranks higher.
3. Set/Games Percentage: If three or more players are tied (e.g., everyone is 1–1), the winner is decided by the highest percentage of sets won to sets played; and if still not determined, games won to games played.
MATCH FORMAT (EXCEPT GREEN BALL)
- One standard set to 6 games. Tie-break: If the score reaches 6–6, play a standard 7-point tie-break (first to 7, lead by 2).
- All Round Robin matches and Elimination matches before semifinals - Sudden death (no deuce). At 40-40 (Deuce), the next point (played on the Ad side) wins.
- Elimination matches for semifinals and finals - regular (unlimited) deuce scoring.
MATCH FORMAT - GREEN BALL
- The match is the first to 4 games. If the match is at 3-3, play a tie-break to 5 points (deciding point at 4-4)
- Sudden death (no deuce) - At 40–40 (Deuce), the next point (played on the Ad side) wins .
RAIN DELAYS
Note: In the event of rain delays, the following changes to the format may be announced:
- Round Robin formats may be reduced to first to 4 games. If the match is at 3-3, play a tie-break to 5 points (deciding point at 4-4).
- Elimination formats may also adopt sudden death (no deuce) format for semifinals and finals.
- Total washout (rain resulting in the majority of matches being unplayable) will result in rescheduling to a future date TBC.
