Tina Keown - Head of Coaching / Managing Director
Tina is the Managing Director of The Victorian Tennis Academy and has worked in the tennis industry for 22 years, working with VTA for 18 of those. She brings international experience as a player and coach. Tina is a TA Club Professional Coach, LTA Performance Coach and holds a National Diploma in Sport with Business Management. Based at VTA Oakleigh, Tina is head of coaching and program delivery.
Patrick Gould - Venue Manager
Patrick is an experienced tennis coach, joining VTA in 2022. He is a Tennis Australia Club Professional Coach with over 11 years of on court experience. Patrick, oversees the coaching program at Oakleigh and is passionate in developing his players to achieve their tennis goals and enjoys teaching and mentoring youth players by inspiring fun and good sportsmanship. With an emphasis on playing ‘positive tennis’, Patrick conducts engaging, informative and challenging sessions for all of his players. Patrick also holds a Bachelor of Business – Accounting.
Atri Bhatt - Assistant Venue Manager
Atri joined the VTA team in 2023 and is a Tennis Australia Junior Development coach. A true believer in “getting 1% better every day,” Atri’s coaching philosophy is all about gradual, consistent improvement. Atri has been a vital part of the VTA family since January 2023. He’s captivated by VTA’s passion for developing the skills of young tennis enthusiasts across Australia. With Atri, it’s not just about teaching the game; it’s about fostering a love for it. He holds a prestigious Masters degree in Sport Management from Deakin University.
Noah Wooldridge
Noah is a Tennis Australia coach member and qualified Junior Development Coach. He is an experienced player who has been part of VTA’s junior pathway since the age of 8. He brings enthusiasm to the court to create a fun learning environment while helping players grow to be the best tennis players they can be. Noah is currently studying Biomedical Science at Deakin University.
Taj Mahir
Taj Mahir is a dedicated tennis coach. He began his coaching journey in 2018 working with Blind Tennis Victoria, teaching fundamental tennis skills to people with visual impairments. Taj is passionate about expanding his knowledge through Tennis Australia coaching courses, completing his Junior Development course in 2025. His coaching philosophy revolves around playing tennis with a positive attitude, emphasising inclusion, and coaching by the motto of “progress over perfection.”
Mike Lancefield
Michael is a Tennis Australia qualified Club Professional coach who has experience playing tennis at a professional level, in Australia & the US. He believes in helping students develop strong technical and movement skills, that are fundamental to progressing within the sport. Michael uses a game-based approach to learning, using competition to drive motivation and success. Akhil Duhoon
Akhil is a dedicated tennis coach in Melbourne with a strong focus on technical development and attention to detail. He has completed the Junior Development Coaching Course and is preparing for the Club Professional Course. Passionate about helping players grow, Akhil believes competition is key to improvement he actively plays comps himself and holds a UTR of 9.5. His coaching emphasizes solid technique, smart tactics, and a love for learning both on and off the court.
