Welcome to our Website Pax Hill Tennis Club

Introduction

Pax Hill Tennis Club, a community based family club, was founded in 1960, after land donated by the housing commission in 1957 saw the creation of two tennis courts for community use in Traralgon West.  In 1970 two additional courts were added along with clubroom & toilet facilities.

In 1980, after a short period of closure due to council amalgamation of local courts, the club reopened and has been going strong ever since in the west Traralgon area.

We currently cater for players from the age of 4 through to 70 having approx 50 competition playing members and many more players and community members that use the courts on a regular basis.

The club offers regular after school coaching clinics and after hours senior clinics.

All Ability groups and well as schools use the facilities.

There are very few daylight hours when the Pax Hill Tennis Courts are not in use.

The West End of Traralgon is growing rapidly and our club is welcoming new social and competition playing members who enjoy a smaller club environment.

Being part of the Latrobe Valley Tennis Association the club offers Saturday morning junior and afternoon senior competition with other local clubs.  A midweek ladies social competition is also played.

We allow daylight hour access to two of our courts free of charge all year round to the public, except for during Saturday tennis competition season. The season runs from Oct – Dec & then Jan – Mar between 8.30am – 11.30am and 1pm – 3pm. However if no home games are being played, these courts will be made available to the public.

We encourage our community and regular visitors to become a member of our club, visit our membership page for more information.  And make sure you set up a Tennis Australia profile!

We have an active committee of volunteers who focus on the following goals;

  • Inclusion in the sport of tennis for all people.
  • Fundraising for uniforms, upkeep and upgrading of our facilities.
  • Obtaining sponsorship and grants to assist the club prosper.
  • Providing coaching for children as young as 4 right through to adults.

Thank you Beverly,

The Pax Hill Tennis Club would like to express our appreciation to Beverly Pead for her significant contribution to the Club over the past 10+ years. Beverly has most recently been the club Treasurer but has also held many other positions over her years on the committee. With her family no longer playing tennis, Beverly has decided to step down from her position on the committee and plans a move to Queensland in the near future. We wish Beverly all the best and welcome Denice Mildenhall to the committee as our new treasurer.
