Season 2018 19

Season 2018 / 2019 President's report.

Once again Pax Hill Tennis Clubs small but dedicated committee and members have achieved a lot this season, thank you to everyone for their efforts in keeping our small club in good shape for the upcoming season.

I must make mention and sincerely thank long serving and dedicated committee member Barb Webb who is taking a well earned break from official duties after six seasons of holding numerous committee positions. Many of the improvements made to our courts and clubroom facilities can be directly contributed to Barb's forward planning and fund raising efforts.

We had on court success with four junior teams making Latrobe Valley TA grand finals, with section 9 going all the way as premiers, with sections 1, 3 & 5 gallant runners up. A big thank you to Sally Kirstine for coaching our juniors through the ranks and for your ongoing dedication to the junior competition.

Although with limited senior players the club has followed on from last seasons section 4 success this time with the seniors section 3 victorious in the Loy Yang, Yinnar & District TA grand final.

The club has been very fortunate to receive a $10,000 ANZ Hotshots grant through Tennis Victoria. Some of the possible projects the committee is considering are installation of playing lights on some courts, automatic gate lock on top courts, a hitting wall, shade blinds on the pavilion and solar panels.

Fund raising has been on a positive note this season, with the focus being on involvement in fewer events with lower risks and guaranteed returns. Once again for the upcoming season we will be fund raising from the Apex bonfire & raffle, Bunnings bbq, Cork Club market & possibly another trivia night.

Thanks also to Banjo's Bakery for their generous sponsorship, by way of donations of bakery items, throughout the season.

We look forward to a successful 2019 / 2020 season both on and off the court.
