Season 2019 20

Season 2019 / 2020 President's report.

Once again Pax Hill Tennis Clubs small but dedicated committee and members have achieved much this season in very trying circumstances, especially during the second half of the season with the Corona virus pandemic. Thank you to everyone for their efforts in keeping our small passionate club in good shape for the upcoming season.

The LV Associations Saturday morning competition was very fortunate to finish playing the final series before the more restrictive pandemic rules can into effect. A week or so later may very well have seen the grand finals being cancelled.

Well done to all of our junior teams that played in the LVTA final series. We had five teams in sections 1, 2, 4, 6 & 9 make the grand final which is a great result for our club. Section 6 Pax South (3-27) finished the season on a high and must be congratulated for defeating Traralgon (3-25) for the premiership title.

A big thank you to Sally & Glenn Kirstine Tennis Academy and assistant coaches for their ongoing dedication to our junior players as they progress through the ranks in representing our club in the LVTA.

Our Senior Section 1 team had a strong season to make the grand final and were unfortunately narrowly defeated by Glengarry to receive the runners up trophy.

Fund raising for the second half of the season has been very limited due to the pandemic, but with success with a number of grants, we are still progressing forward with club improvements and with our loan repayment to council.

Thanks also to Banjo's Bakery for their generous sponsorship, by way of donations of bakery items, throughout the season.

We look forward to a successful 2020 / 2021 season both on and off the court, with hopefully a return to some form of normality by the seasons end.
