Season 2021 22

Season 2021 / 2022 President's report.

Once again Pax Hill Tennis Clubs small but dedicated committee have worked hard in maintaining the clubs family orientated community presence and financial stability, after a period of pandemic restrictions. Thank you and well done to everyone for their efforts in keeping our small, passionate club in good shape for the upcoming season.

Our club was strongly represented in the Latrobe Valley Tennis Associations junior competition this season with teams in all of the nine junior sections. In an amazing effort all of our teams made the semi finals, with sections three, four, five/six & nine progressing through to the grand final, which is a great result for our club. Well done to Eshan, Larni, Mitchell and Riley of section four and Annika, Grace, Max and Levi of section nine on becoming premiers this season.

A big thank you to Scotty Mildenhall for taking on the role of overseeing the Saturday morning junior competition at the club. Having a committee member there at home games on the morning of play to open up the facility, answer any questions and to ensure the matches run smoothly, reflects the committee's commitment to our club's juniors.

Also a big thank you to Sally & Glen Kirstine Tennis Academy and assistant coaches for their ongoing dedication to our junior players through weekly clinics, as these players progress through the ranks in representing our club in the LVTA.

Our four senior red and blue teams had an up and down season playing in the associations singles and doubles competitions, but with experience gained are hoping for better results next season.

Even though fund raising opportunities were still limited for the season, with the running of a couple of Bunnings bbqs only, the club was still fortunate to receive a grant to purchase outside shade blinds for the outside seating areas. These blinds match the ones installed last season on the verandah area and are much appreciated by spectators during the morning summer games. A further grant for replacement uniform tops was also received. In the off season the verandah deck and stairs were stained and safety lines marked.

We have high hopes for a successful 2022 / 2023 season both on and off the court, as we strive to emulate the juniors success of last season with hopefully all of our teams competing in the associations finals.
