Seniors Night Tennis
EPTC has various options available for players wishing to play night tennis. This is an excellent way to enjoy a hit of tennis at your level on one (or more!) evenings a week. It also caters for the time poor parents in need of some fun and activity to break up their busy week. Well, search no more!
What are your options?
There is a choice of nights and formats to suit you. Matches start at 7:30 pm and generally finish by around 10:00 pm.
Monday night Mixed Doubles competition played in the Knox District Night Tennis Association (KDNTA).
Monday night Mens and Ladies Doubles competition in the Waverley District Tennis Association (WDTA).
Tuesday night Mens and Ladies Doubles competition played in the KDNTA.
Wednesday night Mixed Doubles played in one of KDNTA and WDTA competitions (we offer both).
Thursday night Open (Singles/Doubles) played in KDNTA competition.
Knox District Night Tennis Association (KDNTA)
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights
The KDNTA matches are played against sides from others clubs on a home and away basis. It caters for teams of varying standards and sides are graded based on their playing standard. The large majority of competing clubs are within 20 minutes of EPTC. There are 2 competition seasons per year:
Season 1 runs from early February through to mid-June (including finals), with breaks for school holidays. Team entries close in October.
Season 2 runs from mid-July through to November (including finals), with breaks for school holidays. Team entries close in early May.
Doubles teams are generally made up of 5 or more players, with 4 playing on any one night. This allows for “rostered matches off” to allow for family, work or other commitments. Each player plays 3 sets.
Open singles doubles teams are generally made up of 3 or more players, with 2 playing any one night. This allows for “rostered matches off” to allow for family, work or other commitments. Each player plays 2 singles sets and 1 doubles set.
In all formats players can make up their own teams or they can be placed in a team with others of similar ability.
Cost is $6 per night for all doubles formats and $8 per night for singles/doubles formats to cover court, lighting and ball costs.
Waverley District Tennis Association (WDTA)
WDTA matches are played against sides from others clubs on a home and away basis. It caters for teams of varying standards and sides are graded A to C based on their playing standard. The large majority of competing clubs are within 20 minutes of EPTC. There are 2 competition seasons per year:
Season 1 (Autumn) runs from early February through to mid-June (including finals), with breaks for school holidays. Team entries close in October.
Season 2 (Spring) runs from mid-July through to November (including finals), with breaks for school holidays. Team entries close in early May.
