Smoking Policy

Whitehorse City Council administers and enforces provisions of the Tobacco Act 1987 that relate to tobacco retailers and smoking restrictions to affiliated organisations' enclosed spaces in business, workplaces, hospitality venues, and sports clubs. East Burwood Tennis Club is no difference since we're under the council's regulatory jurisdiction. These restrictions are not only applied to cigarette smoking, but also vaping (e-cigarettes), and shisha tobacco.

In summary, members must strictly observe the following regulations when having a smoke at the club in order to avoid hefty spot fines.

-  Must not supply tobacco to under-age persons

- Smoking is banned within 4 metres of the club's entrance in the presence of children,

- Smoking is banned within 10 metres from the clubhouse at any organised outdoor events.
