• Venue: Altona Tennis Club or Zoom (depending on restrictions). If there is interest, we can also run a hybrid event, allowing members to Zoom in.

It’s been a huge year for the club and the volunteer committee has had to navigate many challenges. The club and coach have had to adjust to operating in the pandemic, including numerous lockdowns and reopenings, and the associated financial implications. We’ve also had to contend with many different restrictions and requirements to keep the club safe.  

The major court upgrade has also presented many challenges around court availability and the project has demanded a huge amount of time from the committee. With Stage 1 completed, it is clear that the club has a bright future ahead with fantastic new facilities.

There have also been many highlights during year, including:

• Head coach Mark Peel being named Club Coach of the Year by the Tennis Coaches Association Australia
• The introduction of the Universal Tennis Ranking (UTR) ladder
• A very successful and popular Inclusion Program
• A record number of women participating in the Fast4 Leagues
• Many junior players excelling in their age groups and competitions

Are you a prospective volunteer committee member?

The committee is also elected at the AGM and we’re always keen to welcome new committee members and fresh ideas!

That is particularly true at this time, as the club enters a new phase of growth and development and digital transformation.

Committee members must be full financial members and hold, or attain, a Volunteer Working with Children Check, within 30 days of being elected a committee member.
