A junior competition for players under the age of 18 years at May 1, for the Winter season and  Summer seasons commencing in that year, is conducted on Saturday mornings commencing at 9.00 am.

The Junior Competition for the 2023 Winter season has 126 teams competing in 18 sections. This Winter season Green Ball Sections 1-4 will be using low compression green balls. All other Sections will use new regular approved balls.

The Junior Competition for the 2022/23 Summer season had 177 teams competing in 26 sections. This Summer season, Green Ball Sections 1-5 will be using low compression green balls. All other Sections will use new regular approved balls. In addition this Summer,   Sections using lower compression orange balls will be played. There are  teams in this competition playing over weeks. 

The Junior Competition format consists of four player teams with single sex sections (four girls or four boys) playing first to six games (tie break at 6  games all for Sections 1 Boys and 1 Girls. This Summer tie breaks will be played at 5 games all in Boys Sections 2 to12 and Girls Sections 2 to 9 with no tie break in Green Ball Sections 1 to 5. The single sex teams play six sets comprising four singles and two doubles. 

The Junior Winter competitions run from April to August and the Summer competitions run from October to March with a long break over the Christmas period.
