Inclusion, Diversity & Access

Car Parking

Plenty of off street car parking is available. Please note our car park is not a smooth surface and there are some patches of uneven ground.

Public Transport

East Malvern Tennis Club is 450m from Darling Railway Station on the Glen Waverley line.

Court access

Some of our courts are only accessible via stairs but courts 7, 8, 9 and 10 further down the path are more accessible.

Club house

Access to our club house is via a ramp and then a small step inside.

We are looking forward to our new club house which is due to be redeveloped in 2024.

Club communication

Emails and newsletters use Easy English with 12pt font size.

If there is anything you require that the club can help you with please contact Lita

Inclusion

The EMTC committee have been working with the City of Stonnington and Tennis Victoria to gain a better understanding of how our club can be more inclusive for people with a disability. Thank you to those members who completed the scoreboard assessment to enable our club to get a deeper understanding of the current level of inclusion. We have now received the results from this assessment and we are targeting areas for our club to work on.

Events

We are excited to introduce Blind & Low Vision match play on Wednesday 21 February 2024 6.30pm - 8.00pm.

Our second Blind & Low Vision Coaching & Social Tennis was held on Monday 11 December 2023 with lots of happy faces after the session below.

Blind & Low Vision Player Pathway

Our club held the first Blind & Low Vision night tennis evening on 14 June 2023. This was a huge success with everyone who attended. This event was made possible with support from Blind Sports & Recreation Victoria, Tennis Victoria, City of Stonnington and Sport4All.

East Malvern Tennis Club acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which the club is situated and we pay our respects to Elders, past, present and emerging.
