Tennis Victoria Pennant Competition:

Sunday afternoons (April – August  during school terms).

This photo captures a special moment for Bayswater North Tennis Club. For the first time, our Pennant team has made it all the way to the Grand Final and the excitement could not be higher.

Pennant tennis is unique, with a double finals structure that makes the journey even tougher. After finishing in the top two of our section, the team faced another set of top‑two finalists who competed on the Saturday, with matches played across both morning and afternoon grades. Only after winning through that round did our team earn their place in the Grand Final, which will be played this Sunday afternoon.

What makes this achievement even more special is the people behind it. This team is built around family. A mother, daughter and aunty sharing the court, supporting each other point by point. In past seasons, the Pennant side has included three families made up of mothers and daughters playing together, a true reflection of the spirit of our club.

Moments like this remind us why tennis at Bayswater North is more than competition. It is about connection, generations playing side by side and families creating memories together.
