Pennant Finals, Family Ties and Community Spirit

It has been a season to remember at Bayswater North Tennis Club, one that captures everything our club stands for. Determination on court, support off it and a strong sense of family at every step.

This photo marks a special milestone for our Pennant team, who have reached the Grand Final for the first time in the club’s history. It is an achievement worth celebrating, made even more impressive by the unique structure of Pennant finals.

Pennant competition includes a double set of finals. After finishing in the top two of our section, our team then had to face the top two teams from the corresponding Saturday section. Some grades played in the morning, others in the afternoon, making it a long and challenging weekend of high quality tennis. Only after coming through that extra hurdle did our team earn their place in the Grand Final, which will be played this Sunday afternoon.

The excitement around this achievement is huge, not just because of the result, but because of the people involved.

This team is built on family. A mother, daughter and aunty sharing the court, supporting one another through every point. In past seasons, our Pennant side has even featured three families made up of mothers and daughters playing together. It is a powerful reminder that tennis at Bayswater North is truly a family friendly sport, where generations play side by side and create lasting memories.

Success like this does not happen without a strong community behind it, and off the court our volunteers continue to make an enormous difference.

We are incredibly lucky to run a regular Bunnings BBQ, which plays a vital role in fundraising for the club. These days are full of teamwork, laughter and plenty of hard work. This photo captures our volunteers in action, getting sausages and bread ready for customers and proudly representing the club. Every sausage sold helps support our courts, competitions and future opportunities for players of all ages.

From Pennant finals to Bunnings BBQs, this season has shown what Bayswater North Tennis Club is all about. Commitment, connection and a community that comes together both on and off the court.
