New Courts Project Status Report
as at 27 November 2024
Progress Overview: Our Development Application has been submitted and is in review. The Federal Grant Agreement milestones have been renegotiated and approved. Final court designs and contracts are now being negotiated. A funding issue relating to additional drainage tank costs is being reviewed and a resolution is being sought. Court construction is likely to commence in Feb/Mar 2025 with completion within three months.
Project Startup is nearing completion
(The Startup Stage covers designing our new courts, sourcing development approvals, contracting our developer and producing project plans)
Project Start-up achievements since last report include:
- finalising drainage design with our engineering team and costs with our developer
- sourcing final court development costs with our preferred contractor
- compiling, finalising and submitting Development Application documents for assessment and approval
- negotiating new Funding Agreement milestones and dates with Federal Government sponsor
The next focus for the Project Team, include:
- finalising costs and construction quality checks with Tennis Australia and local construction specialists
- contracting our developer
- sourcing a Building Certifier and producing a Construction Erosion Plan and Commencement Notice
- producing the project delivery plan for construction governance control and reporting
Project Schedule overview
The project schedule and payment milestones have been renegotiated with the Federal Government sponsors to cater for delays in sourcing Grading and Drainage Plans and to streamline milestone payments. The Development Application has been lodged and its approval is expected in early December followed by a two-week Building Approval process. Construction is expected to commence in February 2025 and take about twelve weeks to complete.
