The Weston Creek One Point Slam!

Would you like a shot at one million dollars?!

Would you like to play a point against Carlos Alcaraz at the 2026 Australian Open?!

Would you like return flights and accommodation at the player's hotel for the 2026 Australian Open?!

If you answered 'yes' to any (or all!) of these questions, then the Weston Creek One Point Slam is for you!

What's this all about?
Tennis Australia's One Point Slam is a new, accessible and exciting initiative run by Tennis Australia to help promote the Australian Open.

How does it work?
Tennis Australia has given clubs throughout Australia the opportunity to host local One Point Slams, where participants play one point (yes, just one point!) against other local players to determine who the local champion is. Each local champion then automatically progresses through to the State (or in our case, Territory) Championship which, for the ACT, will be held in Canberra on Saturday 20th December. The winner of the ACT One Point Slam Championship wins:

  • return flights from Canberra to Melbourne to attend the 2026 Australian Open
  • entry into the Australian Open One Point Slam, where the winner receives $1,000,000 AUD and eternal bragging rights
  • the opportunity to play against professional tennis players, such as world number 1 Carlos Alcaraz who's already signed up
  • $5,000 for your club.

Who can enter?
Anyone can enter and you don't even have to be a member of the club!

When is the Weston Creek One Point Slam?
Saturday 13th December from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm (at the latest). Please arrive 10 minutes early to ensure you don't miss the start!

How do I enter?
Enter online using the linke below or the QR code in the poster attached, but be quick as entries close at 11:59 pm on Wednesday 10 December! An entry fee of $10 must also be paid on the day of the One Point Slam.

What can I expect on the day?
Upon arrival, pay the $10 entry fee and warm up for the One Point Slam! The event will be run by club volunteers, and the draw is randomly generated and published by Tennis Australia the day after entries close (Thursday 11 December). We'll start from the top of the draw, and work our way down, whittling down the field until only the champion remains!

How do the points work?
At the start of each One Point Slam match, the two opponents will do 'scissor, paper, rock' to determine who gets to choose to serve/receive/pick a side/let their opponent choose. The server gets to choose which side of the court (deuce or advantage) they would like to serve to. The winner of each match progresses through to the next round of the draw, while the loser is knocked out of the One Point Slam. Normal singles rules apply, and each player calls their lines. In the unlikely event that there's a disagreement, the club volunteers will determine whether a shot was in or out.
