Vale Life Member Leeston Hopkins

Leeston was club Treasurer and looked after memberships from 1986 to 1994 and organised club member's trips to the Australian Open until 1998. She was awarded Life Membership in 1985 and most recently attended our 70th Anniversary celebration in April 2024. She passed away on 16 March 2025.

Junior Winter Competition

The 2025 Junior winter competition season will start at 9:30am on 10 May and run for 10 weeks with 2 players per team. Please contact Katie Medlar for any enquiries at islandstudiophillipisland@gmail.com  

Biggest Morning Tea

The Phillip Island Tennis Club will, once again, hold a Biggest Morning Tea at the club to help raise money for cancer research. The event will be held on Thursday 22 May 2025 - keep watching for details, possibly including a "Round Robin".

Men's Tuesday Night Autumn Season

The 2025 Autumn Season commenced on 18 February and will run through to 6 May. Contact Rod via rasandas@hotmail.com if you wish to join as a fill-in, or as a regular player for the Spring Season (commencing in September).

Mid Week Ladiers Competition

The Mid Week Ladies “Super Season” started at the beginning of October. Read more under the "Member Tennis"  "Tuesday Ladies" tabs.

Recently Finished

Korrine and District Tennis Association Junior Finals

You couldn’t ask for better conditions for the finals of the K&DTA Junior Summer competition  that was held on Saturday 22nd March. The sun was shining and the wind was a mere whisper as the two top teams from each section battled it out to determine the overall winner of the ten week season.

Inverloch hosted the Pennant, Section 1 and Section 2 finals while Wonthaggi  hosted the Section 3, Section 4 and Section 5  finals.

Congratulations to all the players on the day for your epic efforts!

Phillip Island Tennis Club Summer Holiday Program

While this was washed out on the first day (6th January) around 20 young tennis players enjoyed the next two days of the 2025 School Holiday Program

Once again a great job was done by Paul Rowbottom and the team at Innovative Tennis Coaching - the kids honed their tennis skills, but most importantly had fun!

Club Championships - Ladies Singles Final

The delayed final of the ladies singles was played at 5pm on 21 December with Edith Kaminsky overcoming Mandy Walker to defend her 2023 club champion crown. Congratulations to both Edith and Mandy (see photos under the "Championships" "2024 Event" tabs)

Christmas Get Together

Members partners and children got together on Saturday 21 December to enjoy each others company and celebrate Christmas and a great year at the Phillip Island Tennis Club (see photos under the "Club Events" "Christmas 2024" tabs)  

Men's Tuesday Night Spring Season Competition

The 2024 Tuesday Night Spring season concluded on 10 December. A great night of tennis was capped off by a fireworks display courtesy of the Bass Coast Shire Christmas Carols event in Cowes. See the full season results in the "Member Tennis" "Tuesday Night" tabs. 

2024 Junior and Senior Club Championships

The 2024 Club Championships were held on Sunday 17 November, and what a day it was.

Around one hundred people attended during the day to watch the juniors play from 9am, with the seniors scheduled to start at 1pm.

Match play was organised masterfully by our Club Coach Paul Rowbottom, and many others contributed to what was a great day for our tennis club and community.

Annual General Meeting

Our club's 2024 Annual General Meeting was held at the clubhouse at 6pm on Wednesday 9 October. Those present in person or by proxy voted to:

  • leave 2024/25 Membership fees the same as in 2023/24
  • adopt the revised Model Rules
