Our Team
Head Coach: Peter Dellavedova
Our head coach, Peter is a Tennis Australia qualified and registered advanced Coach and has been running our coaching program at Wonga Park Tennis Club since 1994.
A former Australian 16-and-Under and 35-and-Over Australian Champion, Peter played the ATP Tour for years before an ankle injury put him out of professional tennis.
As a 19 year old, Peter was ranked in the top 15 men in Australia and had the honour of playing in both the Wimbledon and Australian Open Championships whilst on tour. In these years he had the opportunity to play some of the games greatest players, including former world number one John McEnroe. His playing highlights include a narrow loss (7-6 7-6) to world number five Roscoe Tanner (just two weeks before Tanner lost to Bjorn Borg in the Wimbledon final) and a win over the world number nine Guy Forget.
When he’s not on the court, Peter plays off a three handicap at Yering Meadows Golf Club and loves working on and racing his cars and attempting to finish home DIY projects without hurting himself!
“When I took up coaching, I loved it and I am as passionate about it today as I was then”- Peter Dellavedova.
Andrew joined his father Peter as an assistant in 2015 after graduating from school, having learnt the ropes already through work experience and junior coaching roles.
He now has taken over from Peter as general manager of coaching operations at Wonga Park Tennis Club.
Andrew is also keen to expand his 10 year plus coaching credentials. He is currently in the process of acquiring his level two tennis Australia coaching qualifications.
Along with coaching, Andrew also likes to play a game of tennis. He's a past junior club champion of Wonga Park and he's regularly involved in the high-performance training that occurs at the Club. This includes being a hitting partner for his touring professional brother, Matthew.
Andrew loves the one-on-one nature of private lessons and thus runs a sizeable proportion of Wonga Park's solo lessons. Having constructed the current coaching program in the summer of 2024/25, Andrew hopes to provide a set of services that everyone in the local community will enjoy.
He approaches his Wonga Park Tennis Club coaching role with the motto, “the best possible coaching for every possible player”. Andrew is the point of contact for all coaching enquiries on 0452 665 665.
