Our Programs

Social Tennis

The club hosts social tennis on  all 3 courts on Thursday evenings from  7pm to 9pm taking advantage of our amazing LED lighting system. We also host daytime social tennis on Monday mornings from 8.30am. Default format is doubles with 8 game sets where everyone gets 2 serves. Players are paired to ensure even matchings. Our social tennis is suitable  for both inexperienced and intermediate players. For all sessions the emphasis is on having fun, staying fit and mixing socially with our friendly club community. You can register online for our social tennis sessions below.

Tuesday Evening Mixed Doubles Competition

The club hosts a mixed dounbles competition on Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm.  Early registration of each session is essential as players are assigned a doubles partner for the evening to play in 3-4 sets of 8 games. Slightly modified rules apply. This competition is suitable for  intermediate and advanced players.

Community Play

For many years Murrumbateman Tennis Club hosted a Community Play  program for juniors on  Sunday afternoons during school terms. We have decided to take a different approach in Term 4 of 2024. Commencing on Friday 25th October we will hold Community Play on Friday afternoons from 4.30-6pm. Community Play is designed as a fun introduction to tennis for juniors (aged 3-15) and is based on Tennis Australia’s Tennis Hot Shots format. This is a staged program for kids at different levels and ages and involves modified equipment such as mini nets and low compression balls to help get kids off to a good start.  Cost for Term 4 is $20 for 7 lessons or $5 per lesson if registering after the program commences.

Community Play is supported by volunteer coaches from the club.

Open Court

All the gear but no idea? You're at the right place. Open Court Sessions are a new and great way to get out and meet new people, have a laugh, and play tennis at your skill level – with a killer soundtrack, naturally.

Going for around 90-minutes, you’ll have a 10-minute warm-up, 50-minutes of tennis activities and 30-minutes of socialising. On court, you'll play different tennis activities including tennis on smaller courts, Pickleball and triples on a full size court. Off court, you'll make new friends over a drink or a bite to eat.

The best bit? Just show up with or without a crew and your local tennis club will host the night. You don’t need any equipment or any tennis skills, just rock up and have a hit.
