Medical Emergency
MYSC cannot guarantee that a first aider will be present at all tennis sessions.
There is no telephone at MYSC.
In the event of injury or illness:
- Provide immediate care of the injured or ill person.
- Ascertain if there is a qualified first aid person present to attend to the patient.
- Provide initial first aid.
If immediate medical care is required call for an ambulance (phone 000). The Mallacoota ambulance station is nearby.
Provide clear instructions for the ambulance including:
- Age and gender of patient
- Nature of injury or illness
The Mallacoota tennis courts’ address is Greer St, which can be only be used for vehicular access to gate 2 (on the corner of the courts near the larger Community sports complex). Access from Greer St to the club house and gate 1 is closed to vehicles. If you are at gate 1 you should tell the ambulance that vehicular access is best from the Lions Park sealed access road.
Should an incident arise, do the following:
- Have someone open the gate.
- Have someone wait for the ambulance and direct to the injured party and keep access clear.
- Continue to provide support and first aid until ambulance arrives.
Club Secretary or Treasurer (contact details on noticeboard in club house) to be notified of medical emergency, and in case of ambulance being called where patient transferred to.
