- Fun Night Competitions
We currently facilitte 2 competitions per year between February - May/June & August - late November/early December.
For more details or to express your interest, please SMS 0416 231 925. All are most welcome!
We are sure we can find a match to suit you amongst our diverse tennisgroup. Some of our Div 1 players often share advise to help people improve their game. Anthony has playered on the ATP tour and has a wealth of experience to share as do some of our other Div 1 players. Don't worry, we welcome beginners too! Our local Coach, Adrienne is passionate about teaching new players to the sport how to play by providing them with a lesson or two. She's certain you'll also fall in love with the thrill of playing the game.
We also create a social atmosphere by hosting an afternoon tea and encourage participants to occasionalyl bring down their favourite treats and recipes to share, sometimes the children show their skills too!
We are planning on having craft and cooking day for the children so that adults and parents can enjoy their tennis and know the children are being well supported off court.
Between sets we have some time for kids on court
It's all about location!
- The adjacent oval is awesome for the children to kick a ball around
- We also have a hitting wall which is so good to help children develop their tennis skills
- Playing a board game or cards is also so good for the children so that they interact
- Kids love to create things so we are also have some craft activities
- Across the park, we also have a play area that older children can enjoy
- At the end of the street we have the crystal clear waters of Port Haking, if you feel like a swim!
The old saying "Families that play together, stay together" and it is so good for the children to see their parents enjoying tennis.
Many of the people in our club recount their memories of Mum and Dad playing tennis while they entertained themselves off the court.
We recommend you SMS Adrienne on 0416 231 925 to let her know you are interested in joining in so that she can advise you of any activity changes.
Other Activites
As well as taking children to the tennis Kids Day at the United Cup in Sydney Oylimpic Park, we have also hired buses at various times throughout the year to go to the then Sydney International, the Davis Cup and the ATP Cup.
We were so luck to watch this United Cup match between Alex de Minaur & Rafa Nadal!
We hired a coach and 21 of us headed out to the sell out event - the United Cup match between Australia & Spain. It was such a thrill to see Alex win but it also possed the question, will this be one of the last times we will get to see Rafa? ... that made it very special indeed when we pondered the possiblity!
End of Year Presentation
Lots of fun was had as
- Our "games wizard" Stephen Hemsley entertained the children with lots of games
- Parents played tennis with their children - so good to see!
- One of the hightlights was Derek Nolan's speed camera to measure the fastest serve
- Coaching awards were presented to the children
- Of course, we had a BBQ and people picniced in the park where face painting was a big attraction.
