Our History
Bundeena District Tennis Club was established in the 1970's and created social play opportunities for the local community to play tennis. Previously playing from the courts near the Audley Weir (now a picnic area) the tennis club worked with the local council to establish the current 2 tennis courts situated at 49 Liverpool Street, Bundeena. Originally laid as bitumen bare tennis courts, they have now been upgraded to synthetic grass with lights.
Jim Phillips held the role as the inaugural club president and worked with an enthusiastic team of committee members and volunteers to help shape the long-lasting tennis social play programs and competitions we now know today. We thank Jim for his commitment to the sport of tennis and hope to continue to build on his legacy.
For many, many years Graeme Thomas as President, with his love for competition, partnered with Bob Blacker as treasurer and his enthusiasm and love of tennis kept the much loved night competitions going. In later years they were joined by Brenda Phillis as vice president who took over keeping the B grade competition going. From time-to-time various other players joined the committee.
At our AGM on 6 June 2022 both Graeme Thamas and Bob Blacker stood down from their positions. We thank both Graeme and Bob for their dedication and commitment to our tennis club and local community.

The new committee has a passion to promote and foster an all-encompassing "LOVE of tennis" in all its forms, for all ages and will endeavour to introduce a number of new initiatives.
Our focus will be on Fun, Fitness, Family, Friends while still enjoying very healthy, competitive competitions, social days and fun outings to the tennis while interacting with our local Coach, Adrienne.
