Donating used tennis balls for a good cause!

Our Association recently donated 12 dozen used tennis balls to South Pacific School Aid Inc, a South Australian-based charity which collects and packs educational books gifted by local schools and other groups, and then arranges overseas shipping.

During 2019, 48 pallets (approximating 70,000 – 75,000 books in total) were distributed to primary and high schools in countries including Tonga, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Botswana, Myanmar, Tanzania and Fiji. Tennis balls are used to pack around the books in the pallets during transit and then gifted to the overseas school children.

If any other members have any used tennis balls they would like to donate, please phone Leonie Millard (0419 842 738) to arrange collection.

South Pacific School Aid has shipped donated books and school equipment globally to schools and locations in need for over 40years. They undertake this from their premises at 115 Sherriff Street Underdale. Open times: Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:30 until midday
