The tennis over the Winter and Spring continues to be successful, albeit rather cold on some nights. The cold weather does mean we get to use the open fire and enjoy some quality social time indoors. Our numbers have been a little variable but we still have between 8 & 16 and sometimes 20 players each night. Some of our regulars have been able to get away for Winter. We missed them but enjoyed catching up and hearing about their travel exploits.
Thursday nights can be a little challenging due to our Club entering another team in the BDNTA competition. The Club has a number of teams playing the BDNTA night comp during the week. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights. Consequently, our Thursday Night Club Social nights only have 2 courts available from 7.30pm every second week. It is therefore important to register to play as soon as possible to ensure a place. Early registration on either night makes it a lot easier for Grant & me.
I'm sure everyone is looking forward to the warmer weather. Playing tennis during the evening is a great way to get some exercise and the social side is becoming more and more important during times when we are in need of some positive mental health.
The Wednesday and Thursday Night Club Social Tennis is run almost every week of the year. If anyone wants to find out about playing on one or both nights, please contact either Grant Fry [email protected] or myself [email protected] for details and how we go about enjoying midweek night tennis.
More information can be found on the Club website.
