Scholarship Programs

Nurturing Talent, Building Pathways, Celebrating Excellence

At MCC Glen Iris Valley Tennis Club, we are proud to nurture the next generation of tennis talent through our Scholarship Programs. These initiatives support young athletes who demonstrate commitment, potential, and the values of our Club.

Our scholarships provide more than financial assistance and coaching opportunities — they connect players to the rich tradition and prestige of the Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC). Through this pathway, recipients gain access to exclusive membership benefits, high‑performance environments, and a community that champions excellence both on and off the court.

MCC Membership Pathway

The Melbourne Cricket Club is one of Australia’s most prestigious sporting and social institutions, with membership highly sought after and regarded as a privilege that provides access to the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and a wide range of sporting sections and facilities.

Ordinarily, applicants face an extensive waiting list, often spanning many years. However, players who represent MCC Glen Iris Valley in Tennis Victoria Premier League or Pennant competition are eligible for preference at the MCC membership ballot, significantly reducing the waiting period.

  • Each year of representation accrues points toward eligibility.
  • Once the requisite number of points is reached, the player gains preference at the ballot.
  • To commence accruing points, players must be on the MCC membership waiting list — and the Club will assist in completing this application.
  • Participation in both Premier League and Pennant strengthens a player’s profile and accelerates their pathway to MCC membership.

This makes our scholarships not only a sporting opportunity but also a gateway to one of the most prestigious memberships in Australia, reinforcing the Club’s commitment to excellence, tradition, and community.
