MCC Affiliation

After the merger of Glen Iris Valley Tennis Club and the MCC Tennis Section in 2016, we have been known as MCC Glen Iris Valley Tennis Club.

This affiliation with the Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC), means we are one of 14 Sporting Sections who are supported by the MCC philanthropic arm, the MCC Foundation.

We are encouraged to compete at the highest level possible and provide opportunities for players of all ages and capabilities to enjoy and participate.

MCC Membership Pathway

The MCC is one of Australia’s most prestigious sporting and social institutions.  Membership is highly sought after, offering privileged access to the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and a wide range of sporting sections and facilities.

The Waiting List

Ordinarily, applicants face an extensive waiting period, often spanning many years.

Accelerated Pathway for MCC Glen Iris Valley Players

Players who represent MCC Glen Iris Valley in Tennis Victoria Pennant competition or Premier League are eligible for preference in the MCC membership ballot, significantly reducing the waiting time.

Points System

 - Each year of representation in Pennant or Premier League accrues points toward eligibility.

 - Once the requisite number of points is reached, the player gains preference at the ballot for MCC membership.

Commencing the Pathway

 - To begin accruing points, players must first be on the MCC membership waiting list.

 - The Club will assist in completing this application process.

Maximising Eligibility

 - Participation in both Pennant and Premier League strengthens a player’s profile.

 - Club office bearers are also entitled to accrue points for years of service.
