COVID19 update

Following last night's announcement by the Premier, and confirmed today given zero new community transmission COVID-19 cases, all tennis activity is permitted to return as of 6:00pm Friday 5 February

Please see the information below regarding transitions and restrictions in your region.

PERTH METROPOLITAN AND PEEL REGIONS

These transitional restrictions are in place until 12:01am on Sunday 14 February:

Everyone over 12 years must continue to wear a mask in public and while at work, unless exempt or for outdoor vigorous exercise

If you are actively playing tennis, you are not required to wear a mask. You must wear your mask at all times pre and post on-court vigorous exercise.

If you are coaching tennis and not engaged in vigorous on-court exercise, masks must continue to be worn.

4 square metre capacity rule applies at all times

Community sport can involve up to 150 people including players, officials and spectators

Up to 32 people may be allowed on a tennis court at one time, as per the 4 square metre rule, however there may not be more than 150 people across the whole venue. Clubs are asked to coordinate their activities

Seated service only at hospitality venues

All staff, coaches, players, and visitors must register upon arrival using the SafeWA app or a manual register for contact tracing purposes. It is the responsibility of visitors and the venue to enforce this.

Adhering to these restrictions, tennis competitions and tournaments may resume from Saturday 6 February 2021.

Introduction

Loton Park Tennis Club is an inner Perth City tennis club with 6 well maintained grass courts and 2 excellent flood-lit hard courts. Our grass court season typically takes place between October and June. In the down season, while the grass courts are closed for maintenance, play continues on the hard courts. We celebrated 100 years of continuous operation as a tennis club in 2016 and we are a heritage listed venue.

Loton Park changed its constitution in 1995 to be an LGBTI managed Tennis Club.

Our motto is Diversity is our Advantage.

We are not exclusively LGBTI – we don’t ask! We welcome anyone who is accepting of diversity.

We provide organised social tennis (doubles and mixed doubles) on Saturdays from 1pm until about 5pm, and twilight social tennis on Wednesdays 5pm til sunset (November – March). We also have a variety of teams competing in Tennis West Tennis League competitions.

In January we host the Perth Lawn Tennis Championship, a part of the GLTA's international tennis circuit.
