COVID-19 Update 27 July 2021

Dear Members,

We are out of lockdown!!!

Please see below for an update provided by Tennis Victoria, after the Victorian Government announced the restrictions will be easing from 11.59pm tonight (27 July 2021).

What this means for Viewbank Tennis Club?

  • Competitions, tournaments, and coaching/training is permitted for all ages. Limited to the minimum number of people required to participate in and facilitate the activity (players, coaches, and parent/guardian for supervision purposes).
  • Indoor and outdoor tennis centres can open. For indoor tennis centres, a COVID Check-in Marshal must ensure attendees check-in.
  • Clubhouses can open subject to a density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm. Clubs/Centres with café facilities are also subject to the hospitality guidelines.
  • Maximum group coaching sizes of 10.
  • There are no travel restrictions within Victoria.
  • Face coverings are to be carried at all times and worn indoors and outdoors except if a medical exception applies. They can be removed when participating.
  • Spectators are not permitted (excludes people necessary to facilitate the activity such as coaches, trainers, umpires, carers, parents and guardians).
  • Importantly, All coaches, players, students, parents, guardians and visitors must check in to the venue using the QR code’s provided

Competition

Tennis Victoria Pennant will return for Round 12 this coming weekend.  Unfortunately, spectators won’t be allowed.  All players must check in to the club on entry using the QR code posters at the club.

NEJTA/NENTG/DVTA competitions – We are awaiting further updates and we will be in touch once we confirm details. Updates will be send from our competition coordinators.

Membership

As our membership year for 2021/2022 commenced from the 1st of July please ensure your membership has been paid so you can play for free on our courts, otherwise our membership system won't recognise you as a member, and the online book-a-court booking system will begin charging you as a non-member for all your court bookings day and night.
Members who are playing competitions for Viewbank MUST have a active membership.

Please see below for an update provided by Tennis Victoria yesterday, after the Victorian Government announced more easing of current restrictions from 11.59pm tonight (24 June 2021).

The latest eased restrictions for Victoria relating to community tennis in Metropolitan Melbourne and Regional Victoria are as follows:

Metropolitan Melbourne:

  • Competitions, tournaments, and training is permitted for all ages.
  • Maximum capacity 300 people per indoor space and 1000 people outdoors.
  • Clubhouses can open subject to a density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm.
  • Spectators are allowed within the venue and space limits listed above.
  • There are no travel restrictions within Victoria.
  • Face coverings are to be carried at all times and worn indoors except if a medical exception applies. They can be removed when participating.

Regional Victoria:

  • Competitions, tournaments, and training is permitted for all ages.
  • Maximum capacity 300 people per indoor space and 1000 people outdoors.
  • Clubhouses can open subject to a density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm or 1 person per 2sqm when using a COVID Check-in Marshal.
  • Spectators are allowed within the venue and space limits listed above.
  • There are no travel restrictions within Victoria.
  • Face coverings are to be carried at all times and worn indoors except if a medical exception applies. They can be removed when participating.

Please remember when playing at Viewbank YOU MUST check in via the Service Victoria QR code upon arrival.

What this means for Viewbank Tennis Club?

Our club will be reopened further to allow:

  • Competitions, tournaments, and training is permitted for all ages. Limited to the minimum number of people required to participate in and facilitate the activity (players, coaches, and parent/guardian for supervision purposes).
  • Our maximum venue capacity is 150 people at any one time.
  • Clubhouses can open subject to a density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm. For our club , this means no more than 20 people allowed inside our clubhouse at one time.
  • Maximum group coaching sizes of 20 outdoors, 10 indoors.
  • There are no travel restrictions within Victoria.
  • Face coverings are to be carried at all times and worn indoors except if a medical exception applies. They can be removed when participating.
  • Spectators are not allowed (excludes people necessary to facilitate the activity such as coaches, trainers, umpires, carers, parents and guardians)
  • Importantly, All coaches, players, students, parents, guardians and visitors must check in to the venue using the QR code’s provided

Competition

Tennis Victoria Pennant - competition returns this week, with round 8 being played.  Unfortunately, spectators won’t be allowed.  All players must check in to the club on entry using the QR code posters at the club.

NEJTA/NENTG/DVTA competitions - we have not heard any news yet about the resumption of play. As soon as we hear more, we will contact all players and parents/guardians affected by the return to tennis.

COVID-19 Update 12 June 2021


Dear members

On Wednesday, 9 June 2021, Acting Premier, The Hon. James Merlino announced the easing of COVID-19 restrictions for the state of Victoria from 11:59pm Thursday 10 June.

As a result, Viewbank Tennis Club is now reopened for training and social play only, and our clubhouse will be closed unless required for toilet use only. External and in-house competition or events are not permitted.

Maximum group size allowed is strictly 10 people only.  When booking on Book A Court, all attendees names should be on the booking.

We kindly asked that Members, guests and coaching students/parents  follow the rules of “get in, play, get out”.

Face masks must be carried at all times.  Your face mask must be worn indoors and outdoors at all times except when at home and except when exemptions apply.

QR code check in MUST be done inline with the rules of the Victorian Government - we ask that all attendees at the club to please check in via the QR codes posted at the club.

The latest restrictions for Victoria relating to community tennis in Metropolitan Melbourne  are as follows:

Metropolitan Melbourne:

  • Training/coaching can resume for all ages subject to the density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm
  • 25km limit applies to those attending a tennis venue (unless for work purposes)
  • Venue capacity limit of 100 people
  • Maximum group sizes of 10
  • Competitions and tournaments are not permitted
  • Clubhouses are only to be accessed for toilets or equipment.
  • Get in, train, get out
  • All indoor tennis centres are to remain closed.
  • Face masks must be carried at all times
  • Must be worn indoors and outdoors at all times (except when we home) except when exemptions apply.
