Hello Members and Guests!

Your tennis comittee would like to inform you that we are upgrading the mesh fencing that surrounds all four tennis courts.

Work is due to commence on Monday the 7th of July 2025 and go for about 4 or 5 weeks.  Courts 1 and 2 will be out of action from Monday 7 July untill approximately the 21st of July and courts 3 and 4 will be closed for the two weeks after that.

The existing mesh fencing will be removed and replaced by black mesh, the existing poles will be painted black, some additional poles will be sunk between courts 3 and 4, and a top rail will be added.

Barring any unforseen circumstances, we should have 2 courts to use at all times during the construction works.

Thanks for your patience while these works to enhance the facilities at the Turner Tennis Club are taking place.

Our clubhouse and courts are open to members, guests, coaching and casual play subject to the latest Community Tennis Guidelines. Turner Tennis Club is one of Canberra’s original tennis clubs, having operated since the early 1950s.  Nestled in historic Haig Park in the leafy green belt of Canberra’s inner north, the club is close to the city and the Australian National University.

The club is affiliated with Tennis ACT, and actively participates in promoting tennis at all levels in our community.  We welcome players of all standards, and are keen to facilitate our members’ involvement in social play and competition.
