Saturday morning (NEJTA)

  • This competition has 2 formats - Doubles (lower level) and Singles/Doubles (higher level)
  • Team are boys or girls (with an entry level open team for beginners)
  • 4 players required each week
  • Played on full size courts & each player plays 3 sets per week
  • The entry level for this competition is beginner
  • For ages 8 to 18
  • The seasons are Autumn (Term 1&2) and Spring (Term 3&4)
  • A normal season is 14 weeks plus finals
  • Matches are not played in the school holidays
  • Matches start at 9am and approx. finish is 12noon
  • St. Mary’s TC would be your home club. With matches played home and away

Friday night (DVTA)

  • This competition is a Singles format only
  • Teams are open (any mix of boys or girls) based purely on ability
  • 4 players required each week
  • In each team we aim to have an extra player so each player can get a week off occasionally and to cover for illness, injury, etc
  • Played on full size courts & each player plays 2 (singles) sets per week
  • The entry level for this competition is intermediate
  • For ages 9 to 18
  • The seasons are Autumn (Term 1&2) and Spring (Term 3&4)
  • A normal season is 14 weeks plus finals
  • Matches are not played in the school holidays
  • Matches start at 6pm and approx. finish is 8.30pm
  • St. Mary’s TC would be your home club. With matches played home and away

DVTA Playing Rules 2016

Saturday and Sunday mornings (ERT)

  • This has many formats - Doubles, Singles/Doubles, Rubbers, as well as modified formats such as: Red Ball, Orange Ball and Green Ball for beginner levels.
  • Most teams are open with some being boys only and girls only sections (with entry level teams for beginners). (2, 3 or 4 players in teams depending on format)
  • In each team we aim to have an extra player so each player can get a week off occasionally and to cover for illness, injury, etc
  • Played on full size courts as well as Hot Shot courts for Red, Orange & Green Ball formats
  • The entry level for this competition is beginner
  • For ages 7 to 18
  • The seasons are Summer (Term 4&1) and Winter (Term 2&3)
  • A normal season is 14 weeks plus finals
  • Matches are not played in the school holidays
  • Matches start at 8.30am (Sat), 9am (Sun) and approx. finish is 11.30am – 12noon.
  • St. Mary’s TC would be your home club. With matches played home and away
