Associations Junior Pennant (AJP)

Associations Junior Pennant (AJP) is the next step in your tennis pathway.

Tennis Victoria considers AJP as the highest-level of team competition for aspiring junior players.

Associations Junior Pennant is the best opportunity for  junior tennis players to represent their association against the top players from other associations in a fun, team league.

Some changes for 2025
AJP will move to a summer season with Round 1 to be played on Sunday 19 October (full schedule below)
As a trial for 2025/26 AJP season, A and B division will be offered on Sunday afternoons (1pm start)

No Mixed 10/u section in AJP - instead focus is on Super 10’s program

- 12/u,
- 14/u or
- Open (15-18 & under)

Each week between 4-6 players can play

Format - Four singles rubbers (best of two sets with third set match tiebreaker) and two doubles rubbers (8 game set) in each home and away match

Travel - As the Pennant league is made up from Associations across greater Melbourne there is further travel than the usual Saturday competition.  There will be 5 weeks where travel off the Peninsula is required, however car pooling is encouraged. Home match venues will be confirmed.

AJP is also now the gateway to playing all PTA Representative teams.  To qualify for the State Team Championships in February 2026 (formerly the Pat Cash Cup), players must compete in a minimum of 3 matches during the 2025 Associations Junior Pennant season.

A registration fee of $60 per player (tbc) will be payable upon selection to cover team entry fees, balls and court hire. The PTA will also supply a team shirt.
