The Peninsula Tennis Association is excited to announce the launch of a new beginner competition exclusively for new players aged 10 and under.

TERM 1 Season has commenced. We will run the program again for Term 3 ahead of Summer Season Registrations.

Details & Eligibility

Age - 10 and under. 

Mixed boys and girl’s competition

Three players per team compete each week. 1 singles and 2 doubles.

Modified balls and scoring, no ladders 

Information Session - Saturday 3rd February 2024

This will be an induction day for all new players and their parents. 

• There will be an on court session with an instructor teaching kids the basics of court etiquette.
• And an off court session with parents getting all the registrations & competitive player profiles set up. We will also be giving them a lesson on scoresheets and court supervisors duties.
• Cost $10 per player (payable to the PTA)
   

Rounds - There will be 5 rounds on 10th Feb, 17th Feb, 24th Feb, 2nd March & 16th March.
No play on Labour Day long weekend.

Times & Fixtures - Arrive at 10.15 for 10.30 start. The fixture will rotate each week and all matches will take place at the same venue for that week. 

Each team needs a minimum of 3 players but can  have up to 4 or 5 per team.

Each team will play 3 singles and 3 doubles matches on the morning. 

4 game sets with under arm serve allowed for 2nd serves.

There will be no ladder but scoresheets will be completed for each match to teach kids the process.

Southern - Rye, Sorrento, Boneo & Rosebud

Hinterland - Dromana, Main Ridge, Red Hill, Shoreham

Westernport - Somers, Balnarring, Tyabb & Hastings

Northern - Long Beach, Settlers Run & Carrum Downs

We hope to expand the program to all areas of the Peninsula in the coming terms.

Contact your coach and club first. Let them know your child is interested in joining a team.

We will forward further details to all registered players before the commencement of the program on 3rd February.
