Wednesday 2nd of March 2022 was an exciting day at the Murrumbateman Tennis Club  as Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman visited to announce the club's success in obtaining a $130,000 grant from the NSW Government's Regional Sports Facility Fund to resurface our courts. You can read Wendy's full press release here.

On hand to join in the celebration were Yass Valley Council Mayor Allan McGrath, Councillor Mike Reid, General Manager Chris Berry and Manager of Recreational Assets Peter Harvey along with Progress Association President Greg Weekes and Jake Laillard from Tennis ACT. Club President Tash  welcomed our guests  while club members Tom, Annaliese, Paul and Pete made up the numbers for the photo-op at the net.

Our pitch to the NSW Office of Sport was for a facility that not only rectified existing problems but was a step-up in quality. This will be achieved by adding a cement slurry finish over the existing compacted roadbase base, which ensures a more even playing surface. We will be choosing a more durable and higher quality synthetic grass surface. After examining many options we have decided to purchase a surface called Advantage by the NZ manufacturer Tigerturf.
