Maccabi Tennis Club had a huge, historic victory over the ANZAC Day weekend, winning the Tennis Victoria State League Championships - Section 2.

Having qualified for the State Championships following Maccabi’s magnificent victory in Section 3 of the Bayside Tennis Association competition during the summer season, the team was invited to compete in the Tennis Victoria Championships, comprising the premiership teams of Victorian Tennis Associations over summer.

Jordan Jaffe (c), Assaf Drori, Asaf Nagar (Coaching Director of Trademark Tennis and Maccabi Tennis Club), Joel Fredman, Marty Schwarz, Rob Minc, Jonny Henquin and Dean Steinberg.

Asaf & Assaf remained undefeated throught the doubles-only tournament and continue to be inspirational to their teammates and the Club. Maccabi’s victory required a huge team effort with players rostered on and off over the weekend in for the round robin format tournament, played against 5 other premiership clubs over the weekend. A huge contribution to the victory by all involved, which now qualifies the team for the Tennis Australia Nationals on the Gold Coast in October.
