Maccabi Tennis Club had a historic victory over the ANZAC Day weekend, winning Section 2 of the 2026 Tennis Victoria League Championships.

Having qualified for the Tennis Victoria League Championships following Maccabi’s Premiership victory in Section 3 of the Bayside Tennis Association competition during the summer season, the team was invited to compete in the Tennis Victoria League Championships, comprising the premiership teams of Victorian tennis associations over summer.
Maccabi’s successful championship winning team comprised Jordan Jaffe (captain), Asaf Nagar (Maccabi Tennis Club Head Coach and Coaching Director of Trademark Tennis), Assaf Drori (Coach at Bialik College), Joel Fredman, Marty Schwarz, Rob Minc, Jonny Henquin and Dean Steinberg.

Coaches Asaf Nagar and Assaf Drori remained undefeated throught the doubles-only tournament and continue to be inspirational to their teammates and the Club. Maccabi’s victory required a huge team effort with players rostered on and off over the weekend for the round robin format tournament, played against 5 other premiership clubs over the weekend. A huge contribution to the victory by all involved, which now qualifies the team for the Tennis Australia National League Finals on the Gold Coast on 16-18 October 2026.
