Lake Cathie Tennis Club

Overview

We are a small tennis club with 150 members using two synthetic courts. In 2016 both courts were replaced with modern synthetic grass.

Our courts are situated just one block from the ocean, so if you enjoy breathing fresh salt air while getting fit and having fun, then perhaps this club is worth joining

Currently our club does not play inter-town competitions. We are mainly social tennis with varying levels of capability. We put the “fun” back into playing tennis.

Our “comp” nights are really internal social tennis events and in most cases you are welcome to come along and play.

If you like us we would be happy to have you and your family as members.

Membership to the club provides access to our member only facilities, such as our recently renovated clubhouse with shower, toilet, fully functional kitchen and LPG BBQ, and hiring of the automated ball machine (charges apply).

We have a fully qualified tennis coach and emphasis is on junior development. See our “Coaching” page for details.

We are associated with Tennis Australia and therefore we have access to all the current junior training requirements such as Hot Shots equipment, ball machine and plenty of court time.

We tend to play in groups that are named after the day of the week (such as the Thursday Evening Group). These events involve afternoon tea and sometimes some stronger refreshments.

At the end of each year the club sponsors a Members social tennis and Christmas party. Also some of the playing groups conduct their own end of the year social outings.
