ALL Sections
- Eligibility: Players must be age 18 and under as at December 31 of the season commencement year
- Min 2 players shall be available for Pennant and 3 players for Sections 1 - 5. If the required number of players is not available 1 hour prior to the commencement of play, the offending team must notify the opposing team and their match will be forfeited. If play commences over 30 minutes late, the offending team loses one set
- Players can rotate positions during the first 5 weeks to assist with deciding ongoing positions. Once the Order of Merit has been decided, this cannot be changed, except when a player is absent. Other team members may then be moved up the ranking accordingly. Players must not be moved down in the order of merit. e.g. A number 1 ranked player cannot play at the number 4 position at any time. A Club may request a change to the playing order only up to the final home and away match. This must be in the form of an email to the committee to discuss and decide. No changes are permitted during the Finals series
- Players are encouraged to umpire their own matches when possible (with adult supervision). Section 4 and 5 teams must have at least one parent present to umpire. As the season progresses, the serving players in sections 4 and 5 are encouraged to call out scores. One parent from each team may be at courtside to assist
- For safety and to limit distraction, only players and umpires are to be inside the court area, this must be enforced especially in Finals
- If a player is injured or needs to leave and is unable to complete the set, this set will then be forfeited. Another person who is qualified can then participate in the remaining sets applicable to the injured person. This person must have incurred the injury during the match and can’t be replaced due to pre-existing injury or be replaced through matters such as lack of physical condition. The games that have been played to the point of injury will stand
- Overarm serves are mandatory in all sections, except section 5
- Once a player has played three (3) matches in a higher section in a single season, they may not return to play in the lower section except by application to the K&DJTA Committee
- When possible, all sections to be graded by the K&DJTA committee in the interest of the Association. At the end of round five (5) the K&DJTA committee may review teams, if a team is over or under graded, it may re-grade that or those teams to different sections to even out the competition. Teams that are affected will be allocated half of the available points for the five matches played
- In the case of rain, if the match is not commenced ½ hour after start time then a washout is declared. Washouts may also be declared if both teams are in agreement
- Cancellations due to extreme weather may also be declared if both teams are in agreement. In case of extreme weather refer to the Tennis Australia Extreme Weather Policy
- Balls are to be supplied by the home team. Pennant & Section 1-3 Normal yellow balls. Section 4 - Green dot balls. Section 5 – Orange dot balls
- Fees: All players in the K&DJTA must be fully paid members of their nominated club. The K&DJTA committee will decide on team/player fees before the commencement of each season.
