HoneyBee Kidz Tennis is a leading coaching provider, based out of Thurgoona Tennis Club since 2002. Programs are generally 8 weeks duration and run during NSW School Terms. HoneyBee Kidz Tennis is a Tennis Australia Hot Shots provider and also registered with the NSW Active Kids Program.

We offer lessons to beginners and developing players from 4 years of age. Our programs are coordinated by Tennis Australia Club Professional, Barbara Honey-Martin and we are introducing Coach Kari Graovac to take over this role in 2024! Later in 2024, Barb plans to fully retire and she is currently mentoring Kari to take over the business. Kari is a local Thurgoona resident and  ex-HoneyBee student that gained Tennis Australia Entry Level Coach qualifications in 2023. Kari is currently nearing completion of her Tennis Australia Level 1 Development Coach course and hopes to be professionally qualified later this year. Coach Daniel Steer offers Saturday morning coaching although is currently taking a break to complete his HSC. We hope to have Coach Dan back on court again later in 2024. Dan also gained his Tennis Australia Entry Level Coach qualifications in 2023.

HoneyBee Kidz Tennis Introductory Program for children 4-8 years – This fun Hot Shots inspired program offers young children a positive and exciting introduction to the game of tennis. Specialised teaching aids are used including smaller racquets, low compression tennis balls, mini nets and smaller courts. Innovative teaching methods and fun games are introduced to develop and improve coordination, movement, tactics and the basics of the main tennis strokes. Merit cards are awarded weekly to one deserving student in each group with an incentive to collect the complete set of six cards.

HoneyBee Kidz Tennis Program for Developing Players aged 8+ years – An emphasis on fun, practice and increased difficulty will see players develop their tennis strokes and game skills as they progress to the next level. Classes are graded on ability and not specifically on age. At this stage players are encouraged to join Saturday Match Play to develop their game skills.

We offer:
