Season commences mid October and runs through to mid-March, with a break over the Christmas period. The HTA offers two different types of Competition - Traditional (including singles) and Doubles only.

Traditional (Doubles & Singles) Competition - 4 player teams, mixed gender *

Div 1 – Format - best of 3 sets doubles, best of 3 sets singles (match tiebreaker as the third set for both)

Div 2-5– Format - best of 3 sets doubles (match tiebreaker as the third set), single to 9 games

Div 7 Women  only – best of 3 sets doubles (match tiebreaker as the third set), single to 6 games

* We are currently undertaking a 2-year trial of making this competition a predominantly mixed one, based on order of merit/ability. This will hopefully better meet the needs of clubs/players/families, allowing for greater flexibility in the fielding of teams.

Doubles only Competition

Six-player teams are made up of 2 men and 2 women plus 2 other players of either gender who all play in order of merit regardless of gender. There is a total of twelve sets played each week. Each rubber is a 6-game set, tiebreak at 6-all.
