General information
The weekly teams and venues will be available every Thursday during the season on this page (see below).
Depending on the season and division, matches may either be played on a Friday night (Summer Season Premier and Div 1 teams) or a Saturday morning. There are two time slots on a Saturday. The first session is 8.30am-10.45am and the second session is 10.45am-12.45pm. Teams will be advised which session they are playing in prior to the season commencing.
Please take the time to read the information below.
We require a team manager for each team to help us. Team Managers please check for order of merit. Players must be played in this order ONLY. Any unavailability’s please contact your Team Manager in the first instance. If no reserves are available then Team Managers please contact Simon on 0412 196 574.
The draw for each team will be emailed prior to the commencement of the season. Matches are also available on Tennis Australia’s Match Centre at the following link – http://leagues.tennis.com.au/ You will need to create a log in.
Links to the match rules for the SDTA competition are below and a hard copy of the team draw and venues will be placed in the folders for each team as well as a copy of the HVTC etiquette form. Links to these documents can be found at the bottom of this page. An electronic copy of any of these documents as well as the team draw can be emailed to you if you require. Please email suetomh@internode.on.net with which team(s) you require. Please use the team sheet to allocate reserves and a team supervisor for each week as well as a team manager and get this information to Sue as soon as possible so that it can be entered into the team sheets which are placed on the website each week. This information also helps us ring the appropriate people if there are unavailability’s.
Each week teams playing at home will be allocated two courts to play on. Please check the board at the front of the Club to see which courts your team has been allocated. If your team is playing on Courts 1 & 2 then it is your teams responsibility to help out in the canteen for that session.
While every endeavour has been made to position players in the appropriate Division and merit order, if you have a concern or wish to obtain clarification please speak to Simon as soon as possible and definitely prior to the end of the third week of the season. After the third week player movement will be on a 2 win/2 loss system. If a player wins 2 consecutive matches and the player above them loses 2 consecutive matches then the winning player may be promoted above the losing player if they wish to move up the order of merit in the team. If this happens in your team please let Simon know so that the appropriate order of merit change can be made
All teams MUST play in the order given to them. Any changes in order of merit will be emailed to the team prior to the weekend and are reflected in the teams which are loaded on the website each Wednesday. Any changes in the order of merit will be highlighted in green. If you do not play in the order given then the game played out of order will be forfeited and the points will go to the other team. If this happens in finals your team will forfeit the whole match.
Team Supervisors – Please text a copy of the scoresheet to Kendra Dunning on 0409 955 850 or return your scoresheets to the club and place in the marked box IMMEDIATELY after your match. Deadline for collection from the box in the Clubrooms is 3pm Saturday. Not on Sunday and please do not leave scoresheets in the folders. If the scoresheets are not submitted then the club gets a fine. If the matches are cancelled by the association and no one goes to the venue then no sheet is required. If teams turn up to the venue and it is washed out or cancelled for any reason, a sheet is required to be filled out and signed by both supervisors and either a copy sent via text to Kendra or returned to the club. The clubrooms are open on Saturday afternoons.
