Shutdown

As of midnight last night the 8th of July, Nillumbik Shire Council has closed all their facilities, including our tennis club.  This is in response to the State Government's stage 3 restrictions, in place for six weeks at this stage.  There is a lock and chain on the front gate.

Tennis Victoria

Tennis Victoria released a statement yesterday (8th July), recommending (among other things) that social play be allowed for members of the same household,  or two people from different households.  They based their advice on the DHHS advice.  Since the council are not allowing any use of the courts, this does not currently apply to our club.  The  Eltham Tennis Club committee has made the case to the council to allow us to play social tennis under the DHHS and Tennis Victoria guidelines.  Members will receive an update if the situation changes.

Tennis Associations / Competition Tennis

The previously announced expected Spring 2020 season start dates are now up in the air.  At least for the six-week duration of the stage 3 restrictions there will be no community competition tennis played according to the current rules.

DVTA have now cancelled their Autumn season.

MMTA have cancelled their Spring 2020 season.
