Dear members,
 

As we head into summer, we will be seeing some major initiatives in improving our court facilities which should lead to more time and flexibility for court usage.

New court lights on courts 1,2&3

The most exciting event will be the installation of court lighting on courts 1,2 and 3 which will mean that we will have all five of our courts available for Night Tennis.

These works are expected to commence on 16th September 2023 and are planned to be finished by 18th October 2024

This will mean that there will be some inconvenience to members over that period because for most of the day the three courts will be out of action.

Please check into the Book a Court system to make sure you can reserve a court.

We trust that you will understand and be happy to cooperate with other players and coaches over that time. We will provide more details on court availability closer to commencement.

We will also be replacing four of the court light poles on courts four and five at a later date on the instructions of Boroondara Council, which will be funding 50% of the replacement cost.

Court conditions

With summer approaching, we would ask members and guests to be very mindful of keeping the courts watered as we are likely to be subject to dry and windy conditions over the next few months.

Whilst Members can still access our courts using their swipe card, we urge everyone to use the Book a Court system to lock in a court and then enter by using the PIN code.

Annual General Meeting

Our AGM will be held on Thursday, 24 October at 6 pm in our clubhouse.

We welcome members to attend, and we would be particularly pleased to have new nominations for our committee.

Your committee members have been doing excellent work this year but it would be of great benefit to have some new members to share the load and bring fresh ideas.

We will send out a separate notice of meeting closer to the date, but in the meantime, if you do have any interest in nominating for our committee, please contact either President Russell Mckimm or Secretary Ernie Kollegger.

Ernie Kollegger has recently been recognized by Boroondara Council by being awarded a community service award based on his long service to our club which spans over 25 years.
