Chadstone Tennis Club is well and truly back in business.
At the end of 2021, we vacated our premises to make way for a complete rebuild. During that time, a few dedicated members found temporary homes at Willison Park and Lauriston Tennis Clubs. Our juniors moved on to new opportunities, families joined other clubs, and many players simply stopped playing.
Fast forward to 2025, and we're thriving in our new, state-of-the-art facilities. In fact, our membership has grown to its highest level in the club's history. We're proud to now have over 100 members actively participating in competitions - from juniors and mid-week ladies to adult players and our highly successful Tuesday night intraclub competition, now in its second season.
We've also attracted an exceptional coaching team. Head Coach Michael Logarzo is currently in Europe coaching Daria Saville, and recently arranged a hit-up session with Marc Polmans - a moment few of us will forget (especially the volley I managed to put past him!).
With this remarkable growth, however, come new challenges.
With some of the lowest membership fees in the district, we're experiencing increasing pressure on court availability. A recent member survey identified this as the most critical issue facing the club. Unfortunately, we've also observed a concerning trend: courts are being booked but not used. To address this, we've introduced court usage monitoring and reduced the advance booking window from 14 days to 7 days to ensure fair access for all members.
Court access is prioritised for coaching and competition, given the financial and operational commitments involved, followed by social play, and, in time, public bookings. As we plan for the next financial year, the committee has given thoughtful consideration to how we can continue supporting our growing membership while maintaining equitable court access.
Here's what's changing, effective 1 July 2025:
- Membership fees will remain unchanged. We will continue offering some of the most affordable rates in the region.
- A "Peak Time Booking Fee" will be introduced. Court bookings after 7:00 PM will now incur a fee of $5 per 30 minutes. All other booking times will remain free of charge. Additionally, the advance booking window will be reduced from 7 days to 4 days for all bookings.
- A joining fee will be reinstated for new members to cover the administrative overheads associated with onboarding:
- $50 per individual
- $50 per family
- $25 per junior
- New members will receive their car registration access for the boom gate and an access card to the clubrooms as part of their onboarding.
These changes are designed to ensure our facilities remain accessible, fair, and sustainable for all members, both current and future. We're proud of how far we've come - and excited about what lies ahead.
Any current members yet to activate their car registration or receive their access card, please contact the club via email on chadstonetennisclub@gmail.com.
As a reminder, our membership fees are as follows:

Social Membership (no weekend or night comp) | $120 | $50 |
