It is important to know that our tennis club is a community grassroots organization owned by the Manningham Council, and not a professionally managed facility. Bulleen Tennis Club Inc. is a non-profit association managed by members who volunteer their time pro bono to enable the club operate and provide a welcoming environment for our community to enjoy tennis. All income generated (100%) is reinvested into the club for ongoing maintenance and contributions to any capital works, in accordance with the Council's sports and recreation policy. It is the responsibility of all members to contribute to the smooth operation of our club.

Please take a moment to review these key aspects of membership:

1. Playing with Other Members:

  • Membership is for playing with other club members only.
  • When booking courts online, you must enter the names of your playing partner(s).

2. Visitor/Guest Policy:

  • Members are allowed to bring a maximum of two visiting tennis players.
  • Visitors must pay a guest fee of $5.00 per person per hour via credit card online.
  • It is the member's responsibility to declare visitors and pay the guest fees during the booking process.
  • Visitors may play up to five times in any one year; after that, they should be encouraged to become members.
  • Failure to declare visitors could result in the suspension of membership.

3. Use of the Clubhouse:

  • Our Lease agreement with the Manningham Council permits the clubhouse to be open only when a club official (committee member, coach, convenor, or coordinator) is present. Therefore, the clubhouse is open for competitions, events, and coaching only.
  • The Council has provided an outside toilet to ensure members and players have access to amenities at all times, even when the clubhouse is not open.
  • The upper clubhouse (Members' Lounge) is open only for specific occasions organised by the Club, such as the AGM or members social gatherings and functions.

4. Clubhouse and Court Maintenance:

  • Please help keep our club premises (courts, gardens and clubhouse) clean and tidy by using the bins provided and cleaning any glassware you use in the clubhouse.
  • Clay courts need to be watered thoroughly before use, especially in dry weather conditions. Courts should be bagged from fence to fence between each set.

5. Coaching Restrictions:

  • Professional coaching on the tennis courts is only permitted by club-contracted coaches or approved persons with prior written agreement from the club.

6. Membership Requirement for Competition Play:

  • An active membership is required before participating in competition tennis.
  • Individuals who play three or more matches as a fill-in must become members.

7. Junior Player Expectations:

  • Parental supervision is expected for junior players.
  • Dropping off children without prior arrangement is not acceptable.

8. Compliance with Policies:

  • BTC is an affiliate member of Tennis Australia. Members are bound by the club's Constitution, By-Laws, and Policies, as well as relevant Tennis Australia (TA) national policies and code of conduct.

9. Club's Discretion:

  • The club reserves the right to reject, accept with conditions, vary, suspend, or cancel membership.
