BTC members gathered in late October to reflect on the year's achievements and celebrate the launch of our new Club Mascot, the Burly Gryphon. Highlights of the year included:

• Working with Tennis ACT through the year to finalise the launch of the Burly Gryphon, including hats and shirts now available for purchase. The Burly Gryphon is a fierce little creature who represents our fighting, competitive spirit and reflects our unique location next to the lake. 
• Upgrades to the clubhouse and grounds such as our fresh new fences, new gate to court 1, and upgraded plumbing in our clubhouse. 
• Consistent representation by at least one team for each season of the Canberra Tennis League, with several finals appearances and even a few winning teams!

The event was a wonderful celebration of community spirit, attended by members of all the diverse groups of people who make up our Club special: the dedicated volunteer Committee, weekday and Wednesday night social groups, our CTL teams, Tennis ACT staff, and Tennis Canberra coach Manoj who provided tips and tricks to help our CTL teams grow their tennis. 

What's next for Barton Tennis Club?

The BTC Committee will be undertaking strategic planning in early 2026 to decide where to best focus our energies in growing our wonderful tennis community. You can read our current strategic documents here.
