A Tennis Australia Hot Shots initiative, Match Play is a fun, team-based competition for kids (around 7-11yrs) to transition from coaching to real matches, using smaller courts, lower nets, softer balls (red, orange, green), and shorter time formats (e.g., first to 4 games) to build confidence and enjoy team tennis in a supportive setting, focusing on learning scoring and game play.

This is a new program we aim to introduce in Term 2 2026 as an alternative for players who are not yet ready to participate in the SDTA competition but are looking to further their match skills. Further details will be released April 2026.
